The straw flip-flop has a very simple design, consisting of a thin Eva sole with two straps running in a Y shape from the sides of the foot to the gap between the big toe and the one beside it. They typically do not have a strap around the heel, although heeled varieties are available, as well as flip-flops designed for sports, which come with added support common to athletic shoes, with the thong between the toes.

Flip-flops have no doubt found their way into a permanent part of our summer wardrobe. As temperatures start to rise, we begin to exchange our constricting heels and no-nonsense dress shoes for our favorite pair of straw sandals.

More modern flip-flops appeared in Japan with the zori, which are Japanese sandals often made of straw or rubber. As soldiers returned home from World War II, many brought back the zori as gifts and souvenirs. By the 1960's, flip-flops became a must-have for beach-goers.

Straw flip-flops are worn everywhere in summer, they can make your feet comfortable and breathable. It is recommended to avoid excessive wear of flip-flops, choose soft strap and sole is important. Reserving them exclusively for pool, lake, or beach use can also help reduce the risk of health problems and injury.
